Obsidian is born from the earth out of pure fire; it was formed when molten lava cooled too quickly for it to crystallise thus becoming volcanic glass. 
Obsidian is a powerful protection stone, it can shield you against negative, hostile, demanding people & psychic ‘vampires’.
It can also be a very supportive stone; placing a strong protective shield around you blocking out negative energy from every direction.
